Heat and cool your home while reducing your carbon emissions. Ground-source heat pumps (GSHPs), also known as home geothermal, use the underground temperature of the earth to draw heat to warm your home more efficiently, which can reduce heating costs by up to 50 per cent. In the summer, it reverses the cycle to keep your home cool and comfortable.

Who Can Participate

Using a participating contractor, Ontario homeowners who live in a detached home, townhouse or semi are able to take part. The rebate is also available to homeowners of new custom home builds. If you are a landlord, you must obtain permission from your tenants.

What You Get

Receive up to $20,000 in rebates for an ENERGY STAR® Certified GSHP which can save you up to 50 per cent on heating costs. Rebates are available for three models:

Reduce your carbon footprint; ground-source heat pumps are the most eco-friendly space heating on the market.

Moving heat uses less energy than generating heat, making heat pumps more efficient than traditional heating systems.

No need for a dehumidifier. A ground-source heat pump’s cooling cycle provides dehumidification, allowing you to save on energy use.
